Elin’s Last Day of T-Ball

Elin’s last day of fall t-ball came and went and I haven’t had time to blog about it.  First I just have to say how proud I am of Elin and how far she has come since her first practice.   I am also proud that she always went out there and tried her best.  She may not have always been paying attention to the game when she was on base or in the out field but she did always try.

Elin had two hits from being pitched and one of the tee.  I was amazed at how well she did from being pitched.

As you can see from her silly face she was pretty proud of herself as well.  The hardest part is getting her to pay attention to the other batters and not just sit there and talk and dance around.

She  really has more of a hard time when she has all that time to kill when the other team is batting.  I have to remind myself that she is only 4 years old and one of the youngest ones out there.

Overall I think Elin learned lots and has a lot more of a understanding of an organized sport.  She still enjoys hitting off her tee in the back yard.

She was super psyched about getting a trophy and she looks at it almost every night before she goes to bed.

Halloween 2016- Grayson’s First Halloween

Halloween was such a busy night this year! We had a lot to do and a lot of people to see in a short period of time. Immediately after work I went to pick up the kids and got them all dressed and their Nanny and Papa’s house so they could see them all dressed up.

Grayson received a new sleeper a baseball rattle and a book about pumpkins.

Elin scored a cat and carrier Doc McStuffin’s set. She has been loving it.

Then we went over to the cousins’ house to see them and Elin stayed this year to trick or treat with them and some of the neighborhood kids.

Elin was so excited to have other kids to go around with this year. She couldn’t keep up very well because these kids ran from house to house like they were in a race. After about 30 mins of going door to door she was done and declared she had enough candy and didn’t need anymore. She mainly just wanted to walk around holding Papa’s hand after that.

On our way home from trick or treating we stopped at another family friend’s house to trick or treat.

Then we got home and visited a couple of neighbors as well.

We got some pics of Grayson all dressed up as well. We got him a “First Halloween” rattle and a Halloween book. Elin got a cute dress that looked very similar to her costume for her Bitty Baby doll. I failed to get a picture of that.

Elin stayed up way too late looking through her candy and helping me answer the door.

Grayson’s 6 Month Update

How are we already at the halfway point to one year old? It doesn’t even seem remotely possible!

Grayson had his 6 month appointment and did so well despite getting 4 shots. He is one tough little baby because he calms down so fast after the initial cry out from the poke of the needle. He grew a little bit from his last appointment but he is leveling off and is in the 45 percentile for weight and 90 percentile for height.

Weight: 17 lbs
Height: 27.75 inches
Head Size: 17 inches
Clothes: 3-6 and some 6-9
Diapers: size 2

Grayson has had such a good month of firsts and one bad first. Let’s start with the bad. He had his first bad cold! It lasted over 3 weeks and he is still coughing and wheezing some. Thankfully not as much as he was! He did have some nights where he woke up in the night because he was so congested and coughed so much. I am very thankful that he is on the mend and sleeping through the night again.

Then he had some really big firsts this month like jumping in his Jumperoo for the first. He enjoyed just standing and playing with the toys at first, but now he is starting to understand that he can jump in it. He really enjoys bearing weight on his feet so he can stay happy in the Jumperoo for awhile before he gets bored or tired.

Grayson also visited his first pumpkin patch! He enjoyed being outside and checking out the sights from his stroller.

Grayson is drooling lots, but still no sign of a tooth yet. He is enjoying chewing on his fingers and toys for now. He has no interest in the pacifier at all. I’m glad because that is one less thing to keep track of.

Grayson has the sweetest smile and loves to make laughing and cute high pitched squeals right now. He really is just the sweetest and has the sweetest disposition. We are so grateful that he is so sweet and laid back. As the second child, he often gets drug along on adventures that are not necessarily for him, but he is so easy going.

I can’t wait to see what all he will learn next month.

Elin’s Audrey Hepburn Costume

Elin saw a picture of Audrey Hepburn somewhere and she asked me who she was. I tried to tell her a little bit about her and  showed her the movie trailer to “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.”  She thought Audrey was so beautiful and a princess so she asked me to show her more pictures and we did a google search and found a picture of a little girl dressed up as Audrey and Elin went crazy.  After I had to explain to her it was just a costume and not the real Audrey as a child we discussed the possibility of Elin dressing up as Audrey Hepburn for Halloween and from there I started planning and putting together her costume.  Elin loves it and feels like such a princess! She said the next time she goes to Disney World she has to find Audrey.

Since this is such a special costume we decided  to take her on a little photo shoot and get some pictures of her around town.  Elin had the best time walking along and posing for her camera.  I am so in love with the photos!  There were so many great ones to share but here is some of my favorites.

Pumpkin Patch #3: Kelsey Farms

Our third and final pumpkin patch of the season was to Kelsay Farms.  We had never visited there before but since the weather was so lovely we decided we should give it a try.

The first order of business was to let Elin take a ride on the cow train.  She loved it!  We hit it up a the perfect  time where there was no line and she got right in with no wait.

There were so many photos ops that we had to stop and take pictures to as many as we could.

Elin was so excited to see Spookley the Square Pumpkin!  In fact they sold the dvd of the movie there so I went ahead and bought it since she loves it so much.   It really is a cute one if you have not had the chance to see it.

Elin’s favorite part by far was the sandboxes of corn to play in. She could have stayed in there for hours! We practically had to to dray her out of there because she loved it so much.

We didn’t get many pics of poor Grayson there because he was sleeping most of the time.  He was getting over a cough and runny nose.  Below is  the only two pics I got of him.  He is such a good baby to go along and be happy and content at all the places we drug him too.

Grayson picked out this little pumpkin to take home. I love this picture of him really checking it out.

We rode a hay ride and Elin got to check out some tractors, some baby cows and practice milking a cow on a cow machine.  Elin had a lot of fun bu the third pumpkin patch did us in.  We have had enough patch fun until next year.

Pumpkin Patch #2: Appleworks

A couple of weekends ago we made a last minute decision to go to another pumpkin patch since the weather was so beautiful! So after one of Elin’s T-ball games, we went Appleworks in Trafalgar. We had such a great time. The weather was absolutely perfect. Sunny with bright blue skies but crisp enough to wear long sleeves. The perfect fall weather!

Elin wanted to immediately start looking for the perfect pumpkin. I limited her to only once since we already had quite a few pumpkins from the last patch visit.

Grayson was all smiles and enjoying the bumpy ride in his stroller as we walked him along in the patch. He loves to be constantly moving!

After picking out the perfect pumpkin, we took non-hay filled wagon up to the kids area. We had to wait quite a long time to get on the wagon, but once we were on it, the ride was so nice because it was a little longer than your typical ride. Elin loved going around the large pond on the property.

Once we got up to the kids area, Elin quickly spotted a train and pony rides. I told her she could do both so we got in line for the ponies first.

Elin loves the ponies and I had a hard time getting her to hold on with two hands because she wanted to pet the pony with one hand the whole time. She could have ridden them all afternoon if they would have let her.

Then she eagerly waited for the train to come back and it never did! Apparently it ran out of gas and so they had to stop the train rides. What a bummer!

I just love this pic of Grayson smiling up at Elin. He loves it when she comes over to his stroller to be silly which she does a lot!  They had so much fun at the patch that we decided to hit up a different patch the next day. I’ll share those pics soon!

First Pumpkin Patch Visit

A couple of weekends ago we went and visited the first apple orchard/pumpkin patch of the season.  This was little Grayson’s first trip ever!  I am so glad I was able to capture him looking through the tree with Elin and Max.

We go to Anderson’s Orchard every year and the past couple years we have attended the kids day where they have train rides, a petting zoo and bounce house fun.

Elin loves having Max along to play with.  Little Grayson enjoyed watching all the fun from his stroller. It’s hard to believe that next year he will be running around there with them.

Every year we pick the first pumpkins of the season and Elin enjoys running around and checking them all out.  I don’t why but there was far less of them this year.

Grayson was unimpressed when I attempted to place him in the bin with mini pumpkins so he was just hovered over it for a photo.

I told Elin to just pick out 2 but she just kept bringing them to me as I attempted to pay. We walked out with several more than what I planned on but they have made nice additions to my sparse fall decor in the house.

The white mini’s are my absolute favorite.

After selecting pumpkins it was time to check out the little petting zoo.  Elin was fond of the bunny and cat but I thought the pig in the stroller was hilarious.  Elin had an apple in her hand when we walked up and they told us to make sure to have it out of sight of the pig.  I can only imagine how often they had to say that since the petting zoo was at an apple orchard.  Poor piggy!

Elin and Max had a wonderful time and I can’t wait for Grayson to get to join in the fun next year!

Angel’s 15th Birthday

The day has finally arrived! I have been thinking of Angel’s Quinceañera for a long time. We always used to think about throwing Angel and Fiona a big party for their 15th birthday. I made sure Angel still had a good day and lots of party treats but it just didn’t feel quite right for a huge celebration without her beloved sister with us or her cousin Daisy.

Angel is not the kind of dog to make friends easily. She is very fearful when she encounters other dogs and is very sassy with her loud barks. It also takes her awhile to warm up to humans as well. Once she gets to know you, she is friendly and sweet but she is very selective with her affection.

I am happy to report that she still has lots of energy and is in good health! She just had blood work done and luckily it all came back normal. It’s all evidenced by the way she can still tear all around the house and fly up and down the stairs numerous times a day.

Angel enjoyed a special dog cupcake from a dog bakery and got lots of treats and stuffed toys from us and her nanny and papa. I think she had a good day and felt extra special.

We love our little Angel baby so much and am so happy and grateful to still have her with us.

Here are some of my favorite pics of her.

Grayson’s First Experience with Gerber Cereal

Grayson has been working hard on sitting on his own. He is not quite there, but can sit very well supported with his Boppy pillow. He has also been practicing more sitting in grocery carts and his high chair at home. Now that he is in this phase, I thought it would be a great time to start some Gerber Cereal. I want to do everything I can to ensure good, healthy development.

So off to Walmart we went after Elin’s T-ball game last Saturday. As you can see from the pic, Grayson was pretty happy to see he was getting to start his foray into eating with Gerber Cereal. Just look at that big toothless grin.

Speaking of toothless, he is gnawing on everything right now and was eagerly trying to get into his Gerber Cereal.

Walmart had quite the selection of Gerber products to choose from. I choose the Gerber single grain Oatmeal Cereal. That’s exactly what we started Elin on four years ago and she loved it. I love that it provides Iron, Zinc, Calcium, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and six B vitamins.

If you know me well at all, you know that I research everything and therefore have a hard time making decisions because I am always weighing the pros and cons of everything. I love that going with Gerber is one decision that I don’t have to think about. Elin did so well with all their products and still loves their toddler meals. In fact, she just ate a Gerber’s ravioli meal tonight for dinner.

When we got home, we were all excited to see Grayson take his first bite. I kept telling Elin the whole time that I could remember feeding her for the first time as well with Gerber Oatmeal Cereal.

Grayson was excited and ready to eat. I think he was little apprehensive about the spoon in his mouth each time, but he seemed to really enjoy his oatmeal and has continued to every day.

Now that he is getting his start on solids, I know he will start develop more and display more brain growth. It’s bittersweet because I am loving this current age with him, but I can’t wait to see him grow and evolve. Before long, we will be deciding which Gerber vegetables to start with, but for now I am not going to think to much about that and just enjoy watching him with his oatmeal.

Halloween Pajama & Costume Party

Halloween season is officially here!  I have never been a huge fan of the holiday but it’s so much better with kids! Elin is so excited to go to the pumpkin patch, jump in the leaves and of course dressing up and getting candy.  I can’t wait to experience all that with her and now Grayson.  Since it is so much to see all the little ones in their adorable costumes, Halloween themed pajamas and enjoying the Halloween festivities and parties; I have teamed up with some of my favorite blogger’s for a fun link up.   Take lots of your pictures of you little goblin’s and ghosts and linkup with us Oct 27-Nov 3rd.
