Grayson’s 12 Month Update

My sweet Grayson is 1 years old!!!

Weight:  26lbs
Height: 30.75 in
Head Size: 18 5/8
Clothes:  Mostly 18-24 months
Diapers: size 5

Grayson’s first year has literally flown by.  He is such a sweet and beautiful little baby boy. He loves to smile and make all kinds of noises.  He loves to say, “mama” over and over again.

He isn’t walking yet but can hold on to the couch and cruise around holding on.

He has recently discovered that he loves to open and shut cabinet doors.  He is very curious and loves to check everything out.

He eats most table food but for some reason does not seem to like fruits yet.  Even thought he liked it in the baby food form.

He is a good eater and has suddenly started to love drinking water out of his sippy cup.

He loves to to be outside and riding around in his wagon or new car.

He is such a sweet happy baby and I love him so much.

I am finally on Instagram and loving it!  I don’t know why I avoided it for so long.  I would love it if you would find me and follow!    Check it out:

Expecting……April 2016

2016 is going to be a big year for us because we are expecting in April 2016.

We just told Elin over the New Year holiday and she has been so excited ever since. She was even more excited to find out its a boy because she is dying for a brother.

She already talks about the baby constantly and asks me all the time if he is coming out now and when I tell her he is not, she wants to know why he can’t just come out now.

She has been loving shopping with us for baby furniture and clothes. The nursery which was a home office before is now completely empty and ready for outfitting and decorating. I am now 25 weeks so we still  have plenty of time to get it ready although I would love to finish it sooner rather than later.

She is so interested in all the things she will be able to do to help with the baby and she is taking her responsibilities seriously.

One year Blogiversary

This blog has officially turned one year old! I am so glad that I decided to start one and that have kept up with it. I am so forgetful and I know there are many moments and activities that would have come and gone and I would have forgotten about them or I would have the pictures but wouldn’t have remembered all the details about what we were doing.

In one year’s time I have learned so much and gotten to know so many new people that I consider friends. There are so many things about blogging that I have yet to to learn and discover and I can’t wait to keep exploring this new world.

Snowman Craft

Do you want to build a snowman? If you ask Elin, she will always tell you an enthusiastic, “Yes!”  She loves all things snowman-related. Since we have no snow in sight, we will be making  our snowman from Hefty foam paper plates and construction paper.

We will be taking down all our Christmas decor this weekend and the house will be in need of some winter-themed decorations.

The Hefty website site offers cute winter craft ideas and that is where we got our tutorial. I purchased the Hefty Everyday foam plates for this craft.

I pre-cut out the snowman eyes, nose, and buttons since Elin is still too young to use scissors with any accuracy. For some educational fun, we did talk about the shapes and colors as we taped them to our plates.

Then I punched holes in the snowman head and body to tie then together with ribbon. The blue bow is placed on top of that so you don’t see the ribbon. Elin was a bit over-zealous when pushing on the buttons, but these strong Hefty foam plates sprung right back into shape!

I think he turned out pretty cute and I think the Hefty foam plates have a sparkly sheen and it looks like snow. I love that this is an easy craft that can be made with everyday materials for when we are stuck inside on a snow day. We are planning on making the glittery snowflakes next for extra festiveness.

Here are some other crafts and tips from the Hefty website–I’m going to keep these in mind for next year!:

Thank you to Hefty for sponsoring this post.

Easter Crafts

This past weekend I decided it was time to do another seasonal craft. I found this little foam sticker set at Hobby Lobby and thought it would be a fun craft and a cute decoration for Easter. These little sticker crafts are great because they aren’t messy and they are easy to follow. Elin loves having the control of putting the stickers on herself with some direction from me. She also loves to name all the parts of the face so she loved naming everything off and she stuck them down.

She decided to start the project with her little dog by her side. It was so cute to see her get excited and sit in anticipation as I took all the materials out of the packaging and got it all set out for her.

I think our little bunny turned out pretty cute and will be a nice little decoration for the holiday.

My First Post

I can’t believe I am writing my very first blog post! I have been contemplating starting a blog many times and now I am happy and excited that I have finally taken the plunge. My main motivation for starting this blog is to document my daughter Elin’s life. She is already 20 months old and I wish I had started documenting from the beginning. When I would work on her baby book, I kept thinking that there would be so many more milestones and activities to document after the first year; but without formally scrapbooking, I would never keep it all straight.

I hope that this blog will allow me to not only online scrapbook but to also explore my interests and creative outlets. I hope you will keep coming back to read more about our adventures!
