2.75 years old or 33 months

When people ask me how old Elin is, it is so awkward because she is over 2.5 but not yet 3. I am now referring to it as 2.75 even thought that sounds super nerdy. However, I feel like this is a significant age to record because she is changing lots!

She has always loved books, but now she can spend 30-45 mins just looking at her books and reading them to herself out loud. I love to hear her reading the stories and making it up with the pictures. It is seriously the cutest thing ever! We have a lot of books about bunnies that aren’t even Easter-related and those are some her favorites. As she flips through the pages, she talks about how cute and soft the baby bunnies are.

She has been extra affectionate lately with everyone and especially her puppies. She loves to cuddle with Fifi and she gives her little kisses all the time. She has learned to be especially gentle with her.

The winter has left us with mostly indoor activities like coloring. Coloring and drawing are something we do daily. She has gotten much better with her skills lately. She always asks me to color with her and she really studies how I color. You can tell she is trying to mimic my movements.

On the occasion we do get outside, Elin loves the snow.

Elin loves playing with her friends. She is a lucky girl because she is involved with a lot of activities and has lots of playdates.

Elin is starting to get more into all things Disney and princess related. Just the other night, she sat and watched all of “Beauty and the Beast”, and as soon as it was over she asked, “Can I watch another Disney princess now, please?”

She also loves to sing all the times. She sings to herself and asks me to sing to her all the time. God only knows when the thought of me singing with her will embarrass her to death. Probably sooner than I think. Her favorite songs are, “The Itsy Bitsy Spider”, “The ABC Song”, “FrΓ¨re Jacques”, and “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”.

This is one of the best ages yet. I love every minute of it. So far we have be escaping too many tantrums.

  1. So sweet! I can’t wait for the Disney princess phase myself! Have you taken her to Disneyland or world yet?

  2. She’s so cute! Love her princess dress! My middle just turned 3 and such a fun age!!

  3. isnt it so hard to know how to answer that? With Sydney I just say ” she will be 6 in September.” Lol.

  4. I so very much love this age too!!!! Lily’s favorite is Beauty and the Beast which I find so interesting because I feel like it has some scary parts!

  5. I love that picture of Elin sitting on a pile of snow. Such a classic! This really does sound like a fun age. She has a great attention span and it must be so cute to hear her make up stories to go along with her books πŸ™‚

  6. Can you believe we have almost 3 year olds?! Didn’t we just plan out their last parties?! I love those pigtails on her and she looks so grown up in her Sofia dress! Watch out – the princess stuff comes on FAST but it’s so fun! I love that she loves princesses and dress up and she makes up stories with them. IT’s just so cute! Oh books – Callie has started memorizing the books so she can read them. Like has me read one over and over until she “knows the words.” The past few nights at bedtime she’s handed me one book and kept the other and she read the bedtime story! Crazy how fast they grow up! Oh and I totally struggle with the age thing too. Callie tells people she’s 2.5 but I try to say she’ll be 3 in May if I can get the chance. It seems to work.

  7. Our girls are so cute and getting so big. πŸ™ πŸ™‚
